Limelight photography was started by Kim Stevens. Her love affair with photography began in 2003 with an epiphany. She was attending a photo workshop in Kamieskroon with the celebrated master of light, Freeman Paterson. His slideshows of photographs depicting the extraordinary in the ordinary, changed her view of the world forever.
Photography has become both a passion and an addiction and I can never stop seeing my world in images wherever I am.
To explore her vision and enhance her technical skills, Kim has embarked upon many workshops, courses and photo tours.
She particularly enjoys photographing stage productions from ballet to opera to dance and you will regularly find her photographing the FDRs of most productions at the Artscape Theatre Complex in Cape Town, working with Cape Town Opera, UCT Opera and Cape Town City Ballet.
She manages the Education and Development portfolio for the CTPS, and she is regularly invited to judge photographic submissions at clubs and salons. She holds several Associateships with the Photographic Society of South Africa (PSSA) and she is an accredited SAFREA member.
